Down here in the southern most tip of our great land, where the buffalo still roam, along with their beefalo, in the part of this land where the muddy waters meet the whites of the sea, spring has sprung alast.  The blossoms are sweet & the birds they tweet.  This land which by all rights still belong to tribes of the many great Seminole is filled with a warm cool breeze that inhales gently and exhales with sighs of relief.  Sowing of the seeds have come late in the year, but their blooms are reaching near.

To Say it Simply... It's time to Play in the Dirt!! :O)

I quit smoking last year around this time, and the only thing that I was able to replace my busy hands with that really gave me greater enjoyment than the smoke that had filled my world for 20+ yrs, was to throw myself into container gardening.  It was so rewarding, and even though I long to start my garden in the ground, I simply don't have the ability to do so at this time.

(My husband and I are still working on the project that lured me away from my green leafy babies last year, that is our master suite, so I really can't complain much about not throwing myself totally into the garden!!)
But I've learned from last year's experience with container gardening, I don't want to take on more than I can care for. So this year, I'm starting simple and hoping to move up from here.  But here's the extent of 2010's vegetables so far...

"Green Bella"

"Mater One"

"Mater Two"

and finally, last but not least...
"Lil Peno"

Lil Peno, is much larger now and has relocated to a little bit larger home,
but still resides in the "Safe Sunny Sill" of my Kitchen Window!
